***This picture pretty much sums up tonight's game <3>
wow, just look at his face... SO pretty :) ***

Work Dinner

All my bank buddies invited me to dinner tonight :) We went to this vietnamese restaurant in mission viejo..Shogun. We sat at one of the tepan grills. Sarah- our manager- treated all of us. Dinner was very yummy.

Work is going to be SOOO quiet without me! lol... even though i sit at the farest window and hide from customers behind my pillar sometimes, i am totally the life of our bank ;)

(The pic of Cara below is super cute...had to post it, and i expect a comment from u on this post!! lol)

Okay, so let me vent a bit... i am totally freaking out about going to DC. The past 2 days, i've had crazy butterflies in my tummy. I'm stressed out, excited, and nervous. I feel like i am forgetting to pack a million things...and i'm afraid i am going to have crazy home sickness. i am terrified!!! i have never lived on my own...nor have i ever been so far away from home for such a long period of time..i'll miss going to the gym with my mom and our friday afternoon lunches; watching lakers games with my dad and listening to him curse at luke everytime he touches the ball; ill miss zayd coming to my room every night taking over my TV and acting goofy with him (i call him my "after midnight" best friend); ill miss malak as my shopping buddy and listening to her lame high school stories lol; and ill miss belal's moodiness and him annoying our retarded neighbors every day playing basketball... (Keep playing billy! lol)

Ughhhh, the only thing im seriously looking forward to at this moment is mailan coming to visit me at the end of June... she'll be with me for almost 2 weeks :)

So ya, hopefully i survive this experience. I'll probably be shopping a lot... i like to shop when im depressed; its comforting.. So if u would like to donate to the Sara Yunus Fund to Cure Home Sickness, please contact me and i will provide you with my bank account and routing number :) lol

WISH ME LUCK.

And PLEASE GOD LET THE LAKERS WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR!!

**If you are a Lakers fan in the greater D.C. area, contact me, lol..i will be watching every game no matter whatttt!!***

My Roomies

As mentioned in my other post, i had lunch with my roomies today at CPK. Here's a pic. We all kinda look retarded, but oh well :)

Lizelle is on the left, Nicole on the right.

I confessed to them that i cant do laundry... lol

And we realized that 95% of our room will be covered in clothes cuz we are all over packers. Yayyyy lol

PACKING!

So i finally started packing this weekend. Mailan came over Saturday after work (i'm taking a leave of absense so i wont be back to work until August) and she helped me sort through my clothes... wow, i never realized how difficult it was to pack! Like, i have always been a heavy packer and i like to take a bunch of clothes "Just in case," but i cant do that this time.. i need to make the most of everything i take with me for the 2 months. Basically, Mailan helped me decide what clothes to take to DC and what i can live without... at first, both my bags were stuffed! But we went through them again and removed a bunch of things.. (so to the people in DC, if u see me wear a few outfits several times, its cuz i left half my closet in OC).

The bag on the left is my going out/every day/summer clothes..the bag on the right is my work clothes. All i have left to pack is makeup, hair stuff, bathroom toiletries, jewlery, and little things. I am also taking a small duffle bag as a carry on. I'll probably put my laptop, a few movies, and books in there. I'll use that bag for little weekend trips hopefully :)

Here are a few more pictures of my room, my suitcases, how empty my closet looks now, and the thing in my room i'll miss most.... (my luke walton autographed jersey) - i will TOTALLY miss having that next to my bed.

P.S. I met up with my roommates, Nicole and Lizelle, at Spectrum today. We discussed what we will need for our room in DC and talked about what we want to do this summer. I'm excited to live with them :)

P.P.S. An extra special thanksss to Fati for coming to visit me today <3 Her and her buddy Nargie drove up from SD to have lunch with me, mailan, and z at cheesecake factory

Internship

So i finally booked an internship today. The group that i will be working for is a grassroots organization that promotes women in the political field.

They strive to increase "participation in the political process and creating a true women's political power base to achieve equality for all women. The [organization] recruits, trains and supports pro-choice women candidates for elected and appointed offices at all levels of government regardless of party affiliation"

It seems like a great organization b/c they support Hillary (and for those of you who have seen my myspace/facebook, you knowww i am a hillary supporter), and they basically want to increase the number of women in congress, the senate, and in political office. So if i ever decide to run for office, i'll have this group behind me :) lol

So ya, i should be working 4-5 days a week, 9:30-5pm. Business casual, so i dont think ill be wearing suits (thank god). And taking a class one night a week at GWU.

I've already met my roommates and both of them seem awesome. I'm excited to live with them. I hope to do a lot of traveling and a lot of site seeing.

I leave next Thursday... yikes!!

Testing, Testing, 1-2-3...

So this is my first blog post. The reason for starting this is because I am leaving OC for the summer to go to our Nation's Capital!!!

Stay tuned....
